Congratulations! You’re a new hound. Before you arrive for your first day of classes, there are a few more steps for you to take. And while we don’t list getting UIndy gear below, we are sure you’ll want to get some swag soon.

New Student Checklist

Set Up Your UIndy Account
Claim your UIndy account to gain access to areas of My UIndy requiring a login, UIndy email, ACE online learning system, online library resources, and more.

Authorize Parents/Others in the Billing System
Log in to the billing system and give someone else authorization to pay your bill

Complete Placement Tests
If you’ve been told to do so, visit this site to complete your Math, English, and Global Languages placement exams.

Select Refund Preferences
Any tuition or financial aid refunds you may receive in the future will be handled in the way you’ve specified (to be completed after you receive the card from Higher One).

Submit Health Record
A temporary hold will placed on your account if you do not turn your health record in before the start of school.

Complete Your Financial Aid
(1) Notify Financial Aid of any scholarships or grants received from outside sources.
(2) Complete entrance counseling and master promissory note.
(3) Check state award notification (if awarded). Submit changes to state via e-student.

Housing & Meal Plan Changes
Notify Residence Life of any changes to housing or meal plan choices and notify the Financial Aid Office, if applicable, of housing changes

Check Balance Due & Pay
Review and pay your by August 2 to avoid a $50 late fee.

Get your UIndy Parking Pass
Log in to the UIndy Parking Portal to request your campus parking pass.

Update Watchdog for Emergency Alerts
Watchdog is UIndy’s emergency alert system. Review your contact numbers and texting options to ensure you’ll be notified.

Order Books
Select your starting semester and click the Find Courses button to get started.

Look Up Your Schedule
Use the UIndy mobile app or the link above shortly before the start of the semester to look up room locations for your classes.

Welcome Week
Welcome Week takes place the week before classes begin and is dedicated to helping new, incoming Greyhound students make a smooth and successful transition to college life.

Student Activities
In order to be a true UIndy Greyhound, you need to join one of our Registered Student Organizations (RSOs)! After the UIndy Life Expo during Welcome Week, visit the Student Activities page for more information.
