New Hounds

Congratulations! You’re a new hound. Before your first day of classes, there are a few more steps for you to take. And while we don’t list getting UIndy gear below, we are sure you’ll want to get some swag soon.

New Student Checklist

Set Up Your UIndy Account
Claim your UIndy account to gain access to areas of My UIndy requiring a login, UIndy email, Brightspace online learning system, online library resources, and more.

Authorize Parents/Others in the Billing System
Log in to the billing system and give someone else authorization to pay your bill

Upload Your Completed UIndy Health Record to Med+Proctor
Don’t forget to complete your health care record in Med+Proctor. This is required in order to avoid a hold being placed on your account. 

Complete Your Financial Aid Requirements
(1) Notify Financial Aid of any scholarships or grants received from outside sources.
(2) Complete entrance counseling and master promissory note.

Housing & Meal Plan Changes
Notify Residence Life of any changes to housing or meal plan choices and notify the Financial Aid Office, if applicable, of housing changes

Check Balance Due & Pay
Review and pay your account balance by August 5, 2022, to avoid a $50 late fee.

Get Your UIndy Parking Pass
Log in to the UIndy Parking Portal to request your campus parking pass. Watch your UIndy email for a message announcing the availability of 2022-2023 parking passes.

Update Watchdog for Emergency Alerts
Watchdog is UIndy’s emergency alert system. Review your contact numbers and texting options to ensure you’ll be notified.

Select Refund Preferences
Any tuition or financial aid refunds you may receive in the future will be handled in the way you’ve specified. You will not be able to complete this task until after you receive a mailing to your permanent address in July.

Order Books
Select your starting semester and click the Find Courses button to get started.

Look Up Your Schedule
Use the UIndy mobile app or the link above shortly before the start of the semester to look up class times and room locations.

Welcome Week
Welcome Week takes place the week before classes begin and is dedicated to helping new, incoming Greyhound students make a smooth and successful transition to college life.

Student Activities
In order to be a true UIndy Greyhound, you need to join one of our Registered Student Organizations (RSOs)! There will be a campus-wide Involvement Fair on Saturday, August 27, where all students can learn more about how to get connected.
