Kurzweil Text to Speech
Kurzweil is a powerful assistive technology solution that converts text into speech allowing the user to listen to the written text.
UIndy has adopted Kurzweil 3000-Firefly and it may be used by all faculty, staff, and students. Kurzweil 3000-Firefly will enable any student to achieve success independently and learn at their own pace. This software will be especially beneficial for English Language Learners and those with learning disabilities.
To use this technology, you will be required to self-register. To self-register please follow the link below. Please use your UIndy email address when registering and using this software.

Notes about Self-Registration
When self registering, enter your name, UIndy email address, and select University Of Indianapolis from the School/Org drop-down menu. You may leave External ID and School/Org Other empty.
After self-registering, you may access the software from any computer on campus or at home by using the Kurzweil Web App or the Kurzweil Desktop App.
Kurzweil Web App
The Kurzweil Web App may be reached by directing your web browser to http://www.kurzweil3000.com and logging in with your Kurzweil username and password. The web app offers a number of features for reading and editing content.
Kurzweil Desktop App
The Kurzweil Desktop App is a very robust and fully featured application that can be run on Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS devices. The software may be downloaded via the links below. Once installed, you will need to enter your Kurzweil username and password to access the software.
