Alumni Engagement

Alumni FAQs

An alumna/us is visiting my department. Now what?

Great! The Office of Alumni Engagement would be happy to provide a gift for your alumni guest(s). In the “Celebrate Alumni” section please complete the “Request Thank You Gifts for Alumni” form and a gift will be delivered for your alumni. We ask for a 48-hour notice.

How do I participate in or plan an alumni event?

Current or new events are a great way to engage with alumni. In the “Events” section you can see existing opportunities to invite alumni to Homecoming and/or UIndy Day. For custom events please complete the Propose a New Alumni Event form. The Office of Alumni Engagement will be happy to support your efforts to plan a custom event as able but we ask for a 3-month lead time.

How do I request department alumni data?

The Office of Alumni Engagement and broader University Advancement division has a comprehensive alumni database that is carefully maintained. If you want to request an alumni list please complete the Request Alumni Lists form in the Connect with Alumni section. Please also have your dean or directors permission before requesting the list. We ask for a 48-hour notice for most reports.

How do I update alumni bio/demo info?

Our University Advancement colleagues work hard to ensure our alumni database is current and accurate. Often alumni share their new contact, employment, or other personal information with their unit. When this occurs please complete the “Update Alumni Contact Info” form on the “Connect with Alumni” section so we can update the main database.

What is Advancement's role on campus?

We engage alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends of the University through events, reunions, and special projects to increase philanthropic support and overall University engagement.

How can Advancement help you?

We connect alumni and friends to your program by providing them unique opportunities and avenues to support projects that mean the most to them and meet the goals of the University. We also plan strategic events based around geographic locations to connect fellow Greyhounds to the University.
