The Office of Accreditation works closely with the Quality Committee (formerly AQIP), University Assessment and General Education Curriculum committees. Curriculum and programs are assessed annually to ensure compliance with the requirements of the university’s regional accrediting agency, the Higher Learning Commission.
In addition to curriculum and program assessment, we oversee state authorization. In accordance with federal law, the University of Indianapolis is authorized to operate in Indiana by the State of Indiana (see Indiana Code 21-7-13-6). The University is a member of the National Council of State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA) which allows us to offer most* online programs outside of Indiana.
Additional information may be found on the Accreditation and the Student Complaint Process & Institutional Authorization public webpages.

* Nursing programs should contact our office for verification prior to accepting online students residing out of state.
